Process of Making Website

After experimenting initially with a blank page to explore different techniques and effects which I could potentially include in the actual band website, I decided to use a recommended pre-existing template.

I was drawn to this template as, although marketed towards "comedians, actors and entertainment professionals", I recognised the bold and vivacious colour scheme as being similar to the aesthetic of pop-band 'Two Door Cinema Club'.

Using this template, I first made some design alterations; I changed the initial salmon-pink homepage to a dark background. Because I intended to use white typography, it was appropriate to use black in order to ensure a high-contrast between the foreground and background content for readability purposes. In reference to research on the targeted audience, I discovered that darker, more sophisticated colour palettes appeal to teenagers, which is why I made this aesthetic decision.

Because at the time I was unsure of which images to place, I planned where I intended to use them with block-colours. I quickly replaced the generic template inserts with my band-specific information.

To promote a true sense of professionalism, I thought about the typical structure and process of purchasing tickets.

The next element I completed was the contact section and subscription form; I included fake details for representatives of the band, including their personal appearance coordinator, publicist and management team.

An important element I chose to include was this crediting webpage footer, to clearly affiliate the band with SONY Music.

I started adding band-related information, including the biography and I created a list of events using the research I conducted on live music venues.
